The new site will allow the team to realise their dream of an indoor-outdoor nursery.

The Client

Our client owns a successful local nursery business. The lease was coming to an end on their commercial property and the landlord wanted to use the land for other purposes.

The client had to find alternative premises in order to future proof the business.

The Case

The business owners, Laura and Ruth, saw this as an opportunity to expand the business with a multifaceted approach which included:

• The purchase of a residential property with land
• The land will have change of use to be developed
• The business will operate from the newly developed premises

The funding for this case was based on forecast earnings of the business, rather than revenue generated from the property. This had an impact on the availability of lenders willing to consider the deal. The case therefore required careful preparation and presentation from our business team before it was put to our panel of lenders.

The larger premises will enable the business to expand by catering for more children. The three-acre site will also support expansion to an indoor-outdoor nursery, allowing owners Laura and Ruth to realise their dream of opening a Forest School.
